backdrop picture does not show up

The subject title says it all "backdrop picture does not show up"
I just fired up my Kray again after a long absence and dont understand why my backdrop image does not show up. Has this always been the case?
gradient backdrop or a color backdrop works but not an image. Am I missing something here?

G. has not added support for this yet... It's not the top priority since it can be worked around with Backdrop enviroment.
