Sometimes I get strange bright spots on a node based material??
Haven't seen this before, any ideas?

May be you need bake textures and render it as image maps, not procedurals?

Re: Node based material with strange spots
I believe this is Edge Node.
All Nodes which you use are Pre-process with 100% K2/K3 support but I am not sure with Node Edge.
btw
Instead using of Color Tool Node better is to use Simple Colour Corrector: it`s gives more options for texture tweaking include invert option and what I like the most, gamma control.
In my opinion This is the best pre-process Node. I use it everywhere:

Any chance of seeing what's going on in that compound node?Janusz Biela wrote: Instead using of Color Tool Node better is to use Simple Colour Corrector: it`s gives more options for texture tweaking include invert option and what I like the most, gamma control.
