I have the long awaited 9.6 installed however I seem to be missing something! The external renderer tab seems to be missing from the render globals dialogue box. Also when I render frame from Kray, all I get is a standard lightwave render, incidentley I tried Fprime and this crashed instantly!! Has ...

Threads are showing as 4 and multithreading in Render globals is also set on 4.
I tried increasing octree depth on the slow Quad core. It was at the default 20, I increased it to 30 this brought the render time down from 12mins to 7mins 30!
This is better, although it should be more like 4mins 30 ...

My quadcores render with identical times using Fprime, however if I render with Kray one is over 3times faster than the other! My much slower dualcore laptop ...

I generally use the mulptiplier on my image resolutions therefore I test at say 1280x 1024 and then my final images are at 400% therefore 5120x4096, so I don't ever have odd numbers in my resolution settings.

Kray not suitable for high resolution images
I have purchased Kray and have got to grips with it pretty well, it seems to be capable of producing very good images quickly...... at low resolution. I have spent the last few weeks producing a set of visuals for a client I was extremely pleased with the results, 4 days before the deadline I ...
