Re: Simple room K3RC5
My current needs are not a buggy faster K2 renderer for doing stills. I need bug-less animation solution , I need shaders, I need proper antiallising, I need to use bump on my surfaces without flickering noise. No need to wait for any kind of collapse when there are other solutions in the market. M...

Re: Using Kray for many years and I love it !
Simply wait for K3 LW2018 and K3VPR. K3VPR will be destination engine window: only real time render window. K3VPR is necessary to add real time post process and real time tone map. The render window which is now is just temporary solution for beta testing. There will be no buttons in K3 GUI - only ...

Re: Simple room K3RC5
... Anyway Newtek try do something and with these small steps always they make progress. ...but this is not enough, because army of coders can not compete with one genius. ... I don't know about armies of coders and geniuses but when I look at the facts I see that Newtek has released a new renderer...

Re: here my quick scen
Good start !
However the interest of this type of "conceptual" scene lies in the details, that's what makes them so special and realistic in the end, so avoiding this part of the work is almost negating what makes them interesting to start with.
Cheers,
Laurent aka Tartiflette.

Re: Kray interior render and scene attached !
I checked the thread. I like the octane and kray renders the most. Too bad a direct comparison can't be made since the renders look so different from each other due to post work. Where's the modo thread? Btw I think ingo thought lw render was 1 hour not 20 hours  Yes, the LightWave render ...

Re: Kray interior render and scene attached !
Ah so the render I got is exactly the same raw output but just needs tonemapping and post work. Wow 20 hours for the lightwave render engine. How about the octane engine? How long did it take to get a decent render? I know its a bit unfair for octane to render interior scene but just curious....

Re: Kray interior render and scene attached !
Yeah those books I think are instancing error. The lighting seems drastically different, too, regardless of the texture. 1hr 34min you guys have patience. My limit is 20 mins  The fact is the lighting is exactly the same i used in the first post, it's only been post-processed "a littl...

Re: Kray interior render and scene attached !
Yes Octane scene is setup as well and the good news is you don't need IFW2 for this scene as Octane doesn't recognize the plugin ! As for the render time of the first image of this thread, it took 1h34' for a 1500x1000 on my i7/4770k OC @4Ghz to complete, although it could probably be fast...

Hey, thanks for your tests !
Although a bit too "white" for my taste, you have some good camera angles there, quite cool.
Cheers,
Laurent aka Tartiflette.

Re: Kray interior render and scene attached !
Thanks Janusz for your test ! :) Although i'm not a big fan of the post-process you applied, i'm more than jealous of your soft reflections, as it's one thing i have the most difficulties to deal with in Kray ! :o Admittedly i'm not using this render engine that often so my experience with it is qui...

Re: Kray interior render and scene attached !
Thanks for the link Janusz, will do that.
I'm impatient to see what can be done with this scene as i'll probably learn a lot of things on how to improve my knowledge of this great render engine.
Cheers,
Laurent aka Tartiflette.

Kray interior render and scene attached !
Hey everyone. A long time Kray owner here, but being on Mac i'm not using it very often because it's very frustrating to have so much crashes and weird behaviours when using Kray. (for example i have to quit each 3 or 4 renders as i get a crash or i can't save anything anymore in LightWave... Well i...

Re: KRAY 2.56 is out
No user will change V-ray to Octane ...you can be sure (only a few disappointed by theirs own quality and searching something which doesn`t exist: "magic button render") I know these renders. Very nice. But I do not know any tech specification for that: time, resolution, post process. Can...
